Motspur Park 100
Friday 11 and Saturday 12 July 2025
We are grateful to Sarah McAlister for involving the community in her inspirational, sustainable bunting-making workshops. These have been a source of excitement for
youngsters and more experienced folk alike! The community bunting will be on view at West Barnes Library, Motspur Park Station and across the Motspur Park village area on Friday 11th July, and in Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field on Saturday 12th. An incredible achievement!
From Toby Ewin’s first enthusiastic talk to RPWBRA members at the AGM on 24/4/24 to the festivities taking place on 11th & 12th July 2025, the work undertaken by Toby, Sarah and many others has been phenomenal. Toby’s vision and his impeccable research has underpinned the whole project, but he would be the first to acknowledge the contributions from Sarah herself, from the Motspur Park 100 Committee, from the amazing Paul Gumbrell and P.A.L.S. from the Green Valley Railway, the Friends of Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Fields, the staff and volunteers at West Barnes Library, the 22nd Wimbledon Scout Group, the West Barnes Singers, the RPWBRA, the Merton Historical Society and, what a coup, the incredibly knowledgeable railway historian and author CHRISTIAN WOLMAR!
Toby also wishes to acknowledge local business TrImair Ventilation for their support.
As we go to print, final schedules are still being compiled, but whatever you do DON’T MISS MOTSPUR PARK 100!
