Dear Stakeholder

Route 470 – possible changes in South Wimbledon (Merton Industrial Park)

Transport for London (TfL) and Merton Council have been working together to improve public transport to Merton Industrial Park. We have developed a proposal for a change to bus route 470 at Merantun Way and South Wimbledon Business Area (SWBA). We would like your views.

About the change

We are proposing to change route 470 so that the service would go along Jubilee Way, Windsor Avenue and Liberty Avenue, instead of Merantun Way.  This would allow it to better serve the Industrial Park and the surrounding residential area. The width restrictions for general traffic on Windsor Avenue would be kept, and in order to allow access for buses a height restriction with CCTV enforcement would be introduced.

Currently single deck buses run between Colliers Wood Station and Epsom Clock Tower every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday. This would continue under the proposed changes.

About the consultation

The consultation leaflet is being delivered to affected properties in and around Merton Industrial Park and is also being advertised on bus stops in the affected area. The consultation is running until 14 February 2011.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns and we look forward to receiving your comments on the proposed change.

Yours sincerely
